Magnetic Stirring Bar Octahedral Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)

Description

AlNiCo-V magnets encased in Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), these magnetic stirrer bars are autoclavable and include a pivot ring. The flat surfaces ensure an optimal mixing action, and the octahedral shape is well suited to containers with slightly curved or uneven bases. Inert. Leak-free. Colourless. Odourless. Available in 4 lengths. The required length of bar depends on the flask base diameter. Normally, the bar length should be between 30% and 60% of the flask base diameter. Speed of mixing also determines the optimum size; if a high mixing speed is required, a smaller size bar should be used to reduce the vortex depth.

Please note that magnetic stirrer bars are more suitable for low and medium viscosity solutions. For high viscosity (thick) solutions, such as gels, mechanical (overhead) stirrers can be used.
